Governor Youngkin has named Margaret O. Daramola as the new Virginia Poet Laureate. Although she is young, possibly the youngest Virginia Poet Laureate to date, she is wise, cultured, and sophisticated. A volleyball star who won a scholarship to Hampton University when she was spotted playing in Switzerland, she is graduating this week and heading to Harvard next. She's been writing poetry for a long time, and it shows!
WHAT AN AMAZING YOUNG WOMAN! Here are pictures from the Poetry Society of Virginia's Centennial Festival, where she read some poetry for us.
